Cross Bay Challenge is a truly unique way to experience the stunning scenery of Morecambe Bay and the South Lakes. Historically the quickest route from Cumbria to Lancashire at low tide, the bay crossing dates back to the 13th century when monks from the local abbeys served as guides to travellers. Whilst the monks have now been replaced by highly-experienced guides equipped with a host of navigation and safety equipment, the experience of being out on the sands remains as breathtakingly beautiful as ever.
With the choice of a half marathon (the only known race in the world to cross a tidal bay and consistently one of the UK's highest rated races!) or a family-friendly 7 mile walk that finishes in the same place as the runners in time to cheer them over the finish line, there’s something for everyone.
YOU CAN REGISTER ON THE DAY FOR THE 7 MILE WALK AT GIBRALTAR FARM, JENNY BROWN'S POINT, SILVERDALE,
